LanAntiqua
Music and Culture
The LanAntiqua association was founded in 2021 and contributes to the enrichment of musical life in Lana. It also aims to give the music of the 17th and 18th centuries, which is an inexhaustible source of inspiration, its deserved place in Lana's cultural life. Thanks to impressive venues such as the late Gothic parish church of Maria Himmelfahrt in Niederlana with its impressive altar by Hans Schnatterpeck and its special acoustics, top-class concert enjoyment is pre-programmed. The aim of the association is to hold and organise concerts as part of specially created concert series such as "LanAntiqua - Early Music" or the "Lananer Orgelkonzerte". These concerts feature internationally recognised artists as well as local musicians and up-and-coming talent.

Concerts are joy-bringing experiences
Concerts are moments filled with promise and joy; they create balance and can offer a retreat for the mind. True beauty has become rare. How grateful we are when a profound language touches the soul and allows us, if only for a short while, to feel joy. For four years now, culturally engaged people from Lana have been striving, through the cultural association LanAntiqua, to offer musical treasures of special value. It is therefore important to me to express my sincere thanks to the highly dedicated board, as well as to all members, supporters and friends, for their help and commitment. The original idea of our artistic director, Josef Höhn, to present young and established artists in special venues — such as the Gothic parish church of Niederlana, the inner courtyard of the St. Anna nursing home, and the public library — has met with enthusiastic approval and lively interest. This makes us very happy. We thank our dean, Father Peter Unterhofer, for opening these remarkable churches to us, and the Superior of the Teutonic Order, the emeritus Grand Master Father Dr Bruno Platter, for providing accommodation for visiting artists in the convent. We are also deeply grateful to the municipal administration, the Raiffeisen Bank Lana, and the Lana and Surroundings Tourist Office, all of whom have kindly increased their financial support. Our heartfelt thanks also go to our sponsors, our association members, and above all to our loyal and numerous audience.
We wish everyone beautiful and unforgettable musical experiences in Lana.
